“This is one of those important things to know about when you go shopping for an HDTV.

MOST people make a mistake. They buy an EDTV or HD Ready TV. They don’t realize these aren’t really HDTV’s. So they sit and watch tv thinking they are watching HD. In fact what they are watching is enhanced definition television. This is slightly better than your old fashioned tv but it is only half the quality of HDTV!

Why do people make this mistake?

An HDTV Ready or HD Ready system is not an HDTV. It lacks a very important feature. It lacks the little computer chips that actually allow it to display the HDTV signal. It requires an additional receiver so that it can display HDTV.”

Another blog of Ben Fitts that is in my feed reader: GETHD.TV feed!
