In my first post on the Hitachi 42PD6600 I decided just before the purchase to spend the money and went for the 42PD7200.

Due to a miscommunication between the distributor and the transporter something went wrong on the delivery just before Christmas. Not a big problem because I was hardly home during these days. So right after Chirstmas, Tuesday morning (Yes, the Netherlands has two Christmas days) the truck arrived with a huge package for us. The Hitachi 42PD7200.

We unwrapped it and for a change I started with reading the manual (partially ;-). The installation was a piece of cake. And the picture is just great. I was afraid that the cable quality was going to disappoint me but it is OK. Wow, every time I walk in the room with the TV on, I am supprised by the screen size and the clear picture.

The one thing I do not like about this television is the grey speakers next to a black screen. To solve this I have connected the TV to the Denon AVR-3802 and use the speakers of my surround set and did not hang the grey speakers on the TV. In fact they are still in the box in my office.

Now I will just need to build/purchase a cabinet with a plasma lift. I just want the TV to come out of the cabinet when we are watching TV and during the day it should dissapear. The TV looks great, that’s not it, but I just love the idea of hiding the TV. Also this would be nice to use the projector upon the same wall, and this is not possible while the TV is there.
